What’s new and where do we go?
Hello friends,
Another freezing day here in Arkansas and not much for snow. I swear you scream snow and everybody panics. I hear Raleigh got a good drop of snow this winter as well.
Anyways, we are moving along well in our virtualization aging. We are currently evaluating the new HP DL380 G6′s and have been pleased with the performance thus far. We started using HP-Lefthand VSA for our remote sites and now have a much more sustainable infrastructure for our remote sites. Now when we need more resources we just add another server to the bunch and voila! More CPU, Storage, and Memory. All special thanks for VMware and what they have enabled us to do. We are still looking at our Data Centers and considering our options, but honestly I want to see some CiscoUCS. I know the HP DL380′s are great servers but UCS from a network management sounds like a good idea with across Data Center Vmotion. I just dont see a whole lot of publishing with HP doing this. CiscoUCS shows us as well as EMC – VPLEX as well.
This year is going to be an interesting year to watch for me… Be expecting more.
